After a long week of hard work-whether you spent it answering calls, hammering nails, or providing medical scribe services-all you want to do is plop on the couch and spend the weekend relaxing in your home.
While spending the weekend inside is perfectly acceptable, you’re going to need something to keep you entertained until Monday.
Here are five activities to keep you entertained at home:
Play a Game
Who doesn’t like games? They’re a great way to spend time with friends and family and always seem to boost moods. They come in a variety of different mediums as well, such as board games, video games, card games, table-top games, and many more.
Find a game that works for you and have a good weekend of winning!
Binge-Watch a Show
With a dozen different streaming services available, you’ll find no shortage of incredible shows to binge-watch. Netflix, HBO Max, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Disney+, Paramount+, Peacock, and plenty of other streaming giants have top-quality content to offer you.
This might be the perfect time to catch up on new season releases like Stranger Things or The Boys, or maybe you’d prefer to rewatch an old classic.
Create Art
You don’t have to be the next Pablo Picasso to experiment with art. Test your skills as a beginning artist with each medium, whether that be painting with acrylics, oil, or watercolor. Or perhaps you prefer to use a pencil where you can shade and sketch.
Using oil pastels and clay are also great options, and because you can’t really expect your first piece to be extraordinary, there’s no harm done if it doesn’t turn out the way you want it. With a little practice, you might just turn into a regular painter!
Try Your Hand at Writing
If Stephen King and James Patterson can do it, why not you? Writing is a skill that takes time to master, but you’ve got to start somewhere!
You could write poems, songs, short stories, scripts, or even start a novel. Pick a genre, think of a plot, open a document on your laptop, and get to typing! You can always revise it later.
Put on Your Chef Hat
Not much of a cook? As long as you can follow instructions (fingers crossed) even you can create tasty dishes that have your guests asking for seconds. Open a cookbook, look up a recipe online, or watch a tutorial video on how to prepare a dish that you think sounds good.
All you’ll need are the ingredients to make it and a kitchen that can handle your skills. You may even find that you enjoy cooking as a hobby! Plus, you’ll get to stuff your face afterward.
A Weekend Well Spent
Each of these activities succeeds in not only keeping you entertained but making for an enjoyable weekend at home. Regardless of if you spend it cooking elaborate dishes, watching Netflix from the couch, or even playing games with your friends and family, you can bet you’ll be recharged and ready to take on the next week of work.
