In order to edit a saved PDF, you’ll need to make sure that you have proper software downloaded. Many computers come with some type of software, but are programmed to open a PDF in a browser like Chrome, Edge, or Safari.
To check and make sure that you don’t already have software that will allow you to edit a PDF, right-click on the document in its saved location. On the menu that appears, you will see an option to “Open With”. Hover on this option and you’ll see the PDF reader options on your computer.
It will include the browsers that are set up on your computer and any other software options. Try these additional options to see if the software will let you edit. If it’s free software, it’s likely just a reader and you will need to upgrade to edit.

To try it out, right-click on your PDF and click on “Open With” and “Microsoft Edge”. A bar at the top should appear where you can click “Add Notes” and from there you can write, highlight, and erase.
It’s nothing fancy but it does the job. You’ll need to save a copy every time to keep your changes.
